Before we began working on this site we used to play a game we didn’t think many people had heard of. It didn’t appear on many top 10s, there wasn’t a huge amount of advertising, but it was very special.
Sacred 2 was a true co-op RPG. It felt like a fully-featured (although action-heavy) isometric RPG, but the whoel thing could be played in local multiplayer, with your own characters, inventories and all. It was beautiful. Sure it was rough around the edges perhaps, but no other game has mastered that joy of multiplayer roleplaying as well as they did with Sacred.
So you can understand that we’re very happy to hear that Sacred 3 is on its way, coming out in Summer 2014. The press release is below, but we can’t wait!
SACRED 3 DELIVERS ACTION FILLED FANTASY TO CONSOLES AND PC IN SUMMER 2014
Reveal Trailer Sets The Tone For Redefined Arcade Hack ‘n’ Slash Gameplay
Sacred 3 features classic arcade Hack ‘n’ Slash action centred around drop in, drop out cooperative multiplayer for both offline (2 players) and online (4 players) play. The game brings back fan-favourite characters such as the Seraphim, Ancarian, Khukuhru and the Safiri, as well as introduces a new character, Malakhim. Each character class features its own unique skills and weapons which can be upgraded to match the player’s very own combat style. As they master the art of war, players will fight their way through enemy hordes and try to outshine their fellow companions on their way to become the greatest hero of all. The inclusion of mission stats and online leaderboards will continue to drive competition both locally and online. Victory Is Ours. Glory is Mine.
