Sherlock Holmes games have always been satisfying, like a good scotch or a comfy armchair. That’s surprisingly really considering what they’re trying to do. Making you feel like a superhero is easy, you’re already detached from the movement thanks to the controller and the game can just bend physics for you in any way you want. It can make you take bullets as if they were raindrops, leap over buildings and even execute complicated powerslides with the touch of a button. But in Sherlock Holmes they need to make you clever and that’s not easy to do at all.
Hopefully Crimes and Punishments has solved this (pun intended) and we’ll find out for ourselves when it releases on October 3rd. Until then here’s a trailer to tide you over.
